Avenue Bank has expanded its private client team into new territory with the addition of three advisors who will focus on the medical industry and physicians’ practices.

Leading the new division is Steve Jaynes, senior vice president and director of Private Client Banking—Medical and Professional Services. Jaynes retired in 2011 from SunTrust’s Medical Banking group.

Bob Lawhon and Mike Blanchard will be joining the group as senior vice presidents and private client bankers. They have 20 and 35 years of experience, respectively, in the industry, most recently as private client bankers with SunTrust Bank, according to a press release from the bank. All told, the Nashville, Tenn.-based bank now has 11 private client bankers and 109 total employees.

“Our success with our private client banking teams has demonstrated the opportunity to provide banking services with industry specialties, and the medical and professional services market has been a target for us for some time,” said Ron Samuels, the bank’s chairman and CEO, in a press release.

Other recent additions to the private client team include: Jennifer Shepard, who recently joined as a private client banker from Regions Bank; and Deborah Hennessee, who joined from CapStar Bank as senior vice president, private client banker.

The bank did not disclose financial details, but according to numbers from the FDIC, it has been growing over the past year. Assets stood at $760 million as of March 31, a 14.9% increase over the previous 12 months; deposits were $593 million, a 19% increase.
