BMO Financial Group has appointed a new president to lead BMO Delaware Trust Co.
David Sawyer, a managing director with BMO's ultrahigh-net-worth CTC— myCFO unit, will lead a team dedicated to developing and executing strategies to grow BMO's trust business in Delaware, the company announced on Tuesday.
Sawyer played a key role in founding the BMO Delaware Trust Co. in 2012 and was subsequently appointed to the organization's board of directors. He began his career as a practicing attorney in estate planning with the law firm Sachnoff and Weaver, now Reed Smith, according to BMO.
Sawyer will report to Debbie Korompilas, national head of Trust and Estate Services of BMO Private Bank.
"David is a proven leader with in-depth knowledge of fiduciary and wealth planning services, as well as many years of experience serving ultra-affluent families," Korompilas said in a statement. "He will play an important role in BMO Delaware Trust Company's ongoing growth and success."
Korompilas was the previous president of the trust company.
