BNY Mellon is bulking up its wealth management services in Western Florida in response to growing business in the region. The firm has hired Preston Came, a former wealth strategist at Northern Trust, to be senior director in its Naples, Fla., office.

Came works closely with portfolio managers and wealth strategists on the Naples team to provide wealth and investment management advice to high-net-worth clients, the firm said in a statement.

Came spent more than 11 years at Northern Trust, the last five serving as a wealth strategist. He has more than 15 years of experience in private law and wealth management serving entrepreneurs and executives as well as foundations, trusts and multiple generations of high-net-worth families, according to BNY Mellon.

With Came, the Naples office now has nine professionals, up from seven last year.

The new hire is part of the firm’s expansion in Western Florida, the firm said in an e-mail message. In May, it announced the addition of two senior professionals to its Tampa office, which has experienced double-digit growth since it opened in 2008, according to BNY Mellon.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has more than $171 billion in private client assets and an international network of offices.
