DWS Investments, the retail mutual funds arm of Deutsche Bank, on Wednesday named Michael J. Woods as regional head and CEO, adding those titles and responsibilities to his current role as U.S. head of distributions.

Woods joined DWS in August 2009 after leading Evergreen Investments' financial intermediaries and institutions group, a division he established and developed into the firm's largest revenue-producing unit.

Before joining Evergreen, Woods served as CEO of XTF Global Asset management, a New York-based quantitative exchange traded funds (ETF) asset manager.  He also spent more than six years as U.S. head of sub-advisory and IO business at Citigroup Asset Management.

In his new roles, Woods will report directly to Wolfgang Matis, global CEO of DWS Investments.
