Bob Ellis, the former president of wealth management research firm Novarica and senior vice president of the wealth management practice at Celent, has joined Wells College as director of its new center for business and entrepreneurship in the liberal arts, focusing on wealth management.

Wells unveiled its plan to add a center for business and entrepreneurship in the liberal arts earlier this spring. Wells' students can already study business through the college’s economics and management major, or through an independent major, but Provost Leslie Miller-Bernal says there is room for the College to make a unique contribution to the field of business study by expanding its offerings. Ellis will be primarily responsible for developing the curriculum for the center.

Ellis’s ultimate plan is to provide the wealth management industry with a stream of new talent. “I hope to place a lot of these students as interns, and eventually employees, with wealth management firms,” he says. “After all, this is the College founded by Henry Wells, who also founded American Express and Wells Fargo."
