Northern Trust has promoted company veteran Norman Greenidge to national director of the Professional Athlete Group. He will be responsible for meeting the wealth management needs of professional athletes through Northern Trust's core services of financial planning, investment management, trust and estate planning and private banking, Northern Trust said in a statement.

Greenidge joined Northern Trust in 1996 and most recently served as a managing director in Los Angeles, leading a team of professionals who provide clients with wealth management, banking and trust services. Prior to Northern Trust, he spent 15 years with Chase Manhattan Bank, where he served as a relationship manager in a variety of capacities. He has more than 30 years of financial services experience, according to Northern Trust.

Greenidge will emphasize financial education and work with professional athlete clients to create customized wealth management plans, Michele Havens, Los Angeles region president, said in a statement. Havens said Greenidge's experience of "working with some of Northern Trust's most complex client relationships," made him "a natural choice to lead the company's Professional Athlete practice."
