Bank Reps on the Move

For bank reps looking to advance their careers, there’s no better news than a promotion or a job offer that’s too good to refuse. Here’s a sampling of bank reps who were recently promoted or moved to new organizations to assume roles of greater responsibility.

Brandon Williams, TD Bank

Brandon Williams was promoted to senior vice president and head of TD Wealth in the U.S. He will be responsible for driving an aggressive expansion strategy for the TD Wealth business as part of TD Bank’s broader U.S. franchise strategy. As part of this role, Williams will oversee all U.S. wealth functions serving high-net-worth and mass-affluent clients. Williams joined TD Bank in 2001 and most recently served as chief of staff for TD Bank President and CEO Bharat Masrani.

Tom Hamilton, BNY Mellon

Tom Hamilton joined BNY Mellon Wealth Management as a wealth strategist in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. He joined the team to serve clients in Western Pennsylvania, Ohio and greater Chicago. Prior to joining BNY Mellon in May, Hamilton was a wealth advisor at Wells Fargo Bank and previously served as a director in the wealth group at Grant Thornton.

Joseph Colianni, Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo named Joseph Colianni head of banking of Abbot Downing, a business launched in April to cater to America’s wealthiest households. In this role, Colianni oversees a range of services, including checking, foreign exchange and treasury management services as well as interest-rate management strategies, such as swaps, collars and caps. He was previously managing director in Wells Fargo’s Financial Sponsors Portfolio Management Group, where he led a team that managed a portfolio of transactions related to investment banking and traditional commercial lending.

Scott Cripps, Bank of the West

Bank of the West brought Scott Cripps on board as chief fiduciary officer of the Wealth Management Group. In this role, Cripps oversees the group’s fiduciary responsibilities to affluent and high-net-worth clients. His past positions include serving as the chief fiduciary officer for Citizen Bank’s wealth management business and holding senior trust, tax and estate planning advisory services roles at Charles Schwab & Co., Grant Thornton and The Private Trust Company.

Christopher Benson, Northern Trust

Christopher Benson joined the Denver office of Northern Trust as a senior investment consultant. He previously served as a senior investment consultant and portfolio manager in the bank’s Boca Raton, Fla., office for five years. Before joining Northern Trust, Benson worked for Wachovia Wealth Management and First National Bank and Trust, where he managed investment portfolios for institutional and high-net-worth clients and served on several investment policy committees.

Michael Schanna, Northern Trust

Michael Schanna joined Northern Trust as a senior wealth strategist in the bank’s Orange County, Calif., office. Schanna was formerly an executive director and private banker at JPMorgan Chase, where he was responsible for developing new business and managing relationships. Before that, he was a private wealth advisor at Goldman Sachs.
